Without hydrogen, the global goal of climate neutrality is not feasible. Only with hydrogen can many production processes in industry be decarbonized in the long term and the global energy transition further advanced. The future lies in green hydrogen, which is produced sustainably from renewable energies such as wind and solar power.
However, to date, too little hydrogen has been produced sustainably from renewable sources. Although the corresponding production potential exists, it is often located in regions far from Europe, such as Australia, North Africa and the Middle East. The path to a future hydrogen economy thus requires an overall geopolitical concept. Read more about this in our study "Hydrogen energy source of the future" (available in German).
