October 2021: Massive monetary inflation of the Western financial system

Bad Homburg, 10/1/2021
by FERI Cognitive Finance Institute

The global financial system has been showing a progressively increasing trend of monetary bloat for the past 50 years. This "monetary supercycle" is driven by extremely expansive money creation by major Western central banks and has recently (triggered by the Corona crisis) accelerated and expanded enormously. For example, money creation in the US has increased tenfold since the Great Financial Crisis of 2008, while economic growth has increased by only 50 percent. This extreme monetary inflation is disturbing, and its consequences for the Western financial system are latently dangerous. The study "The Monetary Supercycle" by the FERI Cognitive Finance Institute outlines the chronology and dynamics of the monetary supercycle and analyses the rising risks for the existing "fiat money" monetary and currency system. The abridged version of the study is available in German via the download section on this page.
